The New Jersey Assembly just passed an online gaming bill that would allow Atlantic City casinos to offer online casino games, not just online poker, to be played for money in the State of New Jersey. The bill passed with a 48-24 vote count, with 4 abstentions.
While this bill passed the Assembly, it still must come up for a vote in the New Jersey Senate and finally be signed into law by Governor Chris Christie. The Senate vote is expected to take place by the end of this week. The outcome of that vote, and Governor Christie’s decision, should be of interest to all gaming attorneys and those interested in Internet poker law in general.
