Federal Online Gaming Bill to Remain in Limbo until Next Year

Confirming what readers of this blog already suspected, Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) has acknowledged that his federal gaming bill lacks the support, and momentum, necessary to seek passage in this session of Congress. As such, the effort will have to wait until next year to be taken up anew.

“I am disappointed,” Reid said, adding he and Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., “remain committed to this issue and it will be a priority for us in the new Congress.”

This process will be worth keeping an eye on next year for gambling attorneys and those interested in Internet poker law in general.
